Clean Water Project
Executive Summary
The Clean Water Project aims to provide sustainable, safe drinking water to five remote villages in the Tharparkar district. By installing solar-powered water filtration plants, this initiative will dramatically reduce waterborne diseases and improve the overall quality of life for vulnerable families.
Problem Statement
Currently, residents of these five villages walk an average of 4 kilometers daily to fetch water from contaminated open wells. According to recent health surveys, 60% of children in this specific region suffer from recurring waterborne illnesses, leading to severe malnutrition and high school dropout rates.
Proposed Solution
Ramzan Welfare Trust will construct 5 high-capacity, solar-powered Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants. Each plant will be equipped with multiple dispensing taps and managed by a local community committee to ensure long-term maintenance and sustainability.
Project Objectives
- Provide 10,000 liters of purified drinking water daily per village.
- Reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases by 80% within the first year.
- Empower local communities by training 15 residents in basic RO plant maintenance.
